Houston Honor Guard

WHO WE ARE

We are a dedicated group of veterans that are members of The Northline American Legion Post 586.  Our Honor Guard team has been in existence for more than 30 years and performing military funerals and memorial services at an average of over 600 services a year.

WHAT WE DO

Our purpose is to honor the service of our honorably discharged veterans of the United States Armed Forces and includes:

  • Words of honor & comfort from our Chaplain and Commander
  • 3 volley rifle salute and playing of taps
  • Folding and presentation of the flag
  • Presentation of shell casings

We perform in conjunction with military members and the National Memorial Ladies, if they are present.

WHY WE DO IT

We are committed to providing a memorable service that honors our fallen veterans and the sacrifices that they and their families have made.  We are a professional team that adheres to the highest standards of excellence in our presentations.

WHERE WE PERFORM

We provide our services at the VA Houston National Cemetery where over 100,000 veterans are interred.

WHEN WE PERFORM

Our team is present at the Houston National Cemetery 5 days a week.  We operate regardless of inclement weather.  If the family is there, we are there.
